Eli Gertz

Hey! I’m so excited to be running with Team Yachad in the Miami Marathon this upcoming January! Please support me as I fundraise for this incredible organization dedicated to addressing the needs of all Jewish individuals with disabilities and ensuring their inclusion in every aspect of Jewish life. Yachad allows every individual to have a role, a voice, and a home in our Jewish communities, because everyone belongs!
Yachad’s diverse services include: social programming for all age groups; counseling services for individuals and families; weekend retreats; extensive parent support services; sibling services; vocational training and job placement; professional advocates and case managers; summer camps for members of all ages; special needs yeshivas; shabbat programs; Day Habilitation programs; Israel Birthright trips for persons with mobility and/or special learning needs; social skills development; lobbying for pro-disability legislation on the local, state, and federal levels; high school and university leadership program.
Join me in my racing journey and cheer me on through Yachad’s social media on Instagram (@TeamYachad) and Facebook (facebook.com/TeamYachad/)

Hi Eli, "A tzadik falls down 7 times and gets back up" - hopefully you won't fall (physically and concerning motivation), but if you do - just get back up. Hashem always supports a tzadik, one who carries other people (as can be seen from the shape of the letter tzadik).Yachad is a wonderful organization and they are very lucky to have you running (physically and concerning events) with them. I am so glad that you decided to take on this initiative yo provide disabled people with more opportunities and to have the chance to live a regular life. The chesed you are doing is immeasurable - the impact you will have on the world is unfathomable - just by that number you set for yourself. You and your actions remind me of many admirable figures - yosef, avraham avinu, mordechai, etc. But your namesake, Eli Hacohen, is not one of them. Eli was aware (according to some) of his kids corrupt actions yet he did nothing - this is not you. You stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves. There are so many people who know that the condition of special needs people can be improved and who know that Yachad needs more funding, but they do nothing. There is an idea in chasidus that one should be metaken (fix) the character flaws of their namesakes and - it is clear to me and everyone who donated that this is what you are doing. Behatzlacha and I can't wait to see you succeed! "Am Echad B'Lev Echad"
