Team IVDU
Dear Friend,
A year ago we participated in the Miami ING ½ Marathon along with Team YACHAD. It was our first attempt at such a tremendous undertaking and it was worth it! We hope to do it one more time in January 2013, but we need your support.
Let us just take a minute more of your time to let you know where your donation is going.
1) Toward our learning: As we receive donations, we are responsible for adding it to our already earned money, plotting and recording the new total, and calculating how much more money we need to be able to participate in the Miami ING ½ Marathon with TeamYACHAD.
2) Toward our sense of self: Last year we learned just how hard it was to raise the necessary funds. Everybody seems to have a lot of charities that they support so we really learned that every dollar counts! We learned just how important our organization is and that if we worked really hard, we could accomplish our goal.
3) Toward a greater good: We feel really good raising money for the organization that gives us so much. In case you don’t know, Yachad, the National Jewish Council for Disabilities, creates programming and opportunities to include individuals with disabilities into the broader Jewish community. It is a great organization that does so much for so many people.
4) Toward inclusion: Yachad’s programs promote inclusion. When we run the ING ½ marathon with TeamYACHAD, we’re running with everyone and everyone is running with us. For those of us who ran last year, all we can say is: IT WAS AWESOME. We ran the ½ marathon with tens of thousands of others… but that was only after spending shabbos with hundreds of TeamYACHAD members. BOTH experiences were life changing.
As you see, your donation goes far. It enhances our learning. It enhances each of us. It enhances our lives. But most importantly, it supports a cause that enhances YOUR community.
